Letting Go

We talk a lot about letting go of things. Excess clothing, duplicate kitchen utensils, unused hobby supplies… but there are so many other things we let go of in the process of finding simplicity in our lives. I read about this in several IG accounts I follow and bloggers I look up to. Some examplesContinue reading “Letting Go”

Are your tanks full?

I had no idea what I was going to share with you today. Honestly, I have so much bouncing around in my head, and some of it is far from positive and productive. The last thing I want to do is share a post that takes away from your happiness or inspiration, so I thoughtContinue reading “Are your tanks full?”

Don’t bury your treasures.

Remember I told you that I’ve been having my husband bring me up one box at a time from the basement to declutter? Well, there are a couple of reasons for that, one being simply so that I don’t get distracted or overwhelmed by the project at large. But the other reason, is that heContinue reading “Don’t bury your treasures.”

Simple is so much easier.

I just got back from my six day trip to San Diego, and wanted to share something I took away from this experience. Packing simply and traveling lightly is AMAZING! Wearing things that interchange easily is key! Most of us already know this, and probably put it into practice some of the time. The differenceContinue reading “Simple is so much easier.”

Emma graduated with her certificate in welding from CSC today! I am so proud of you, Emma. Today was an emotional day for us all, but we were so excited to celebrate with you and honor your accomplishments. I hope you always feel loved, encouraged, inspired, and like the total bad@$$ you are!
In honor of our dear Prudence’s birthday and her entrance into heaven 2 years ago today, please take time to slow down. Be in nature. Notice the beauty around you. Better yet, add to it. Plant some flowers, be kind to a stranger, love deeply, look up at the sky, and praise God for the blessings you have been given. 🙏❤️🙏
I added to my little happy corner in my kitchen this week. I added my new Mother’s Day succulent from my daughter (perfectly reminding me of our budding newfound positive relationship). I put it in an old favorite mug I never use from a favorite place that makes me smile. I propped up my new mini photo book from March from @chatbooks (highly recommend these). I put my palm plant I’ve had for years that was a gift from my husband for my shop that’s now closed. I added a cute little bird I grabbed from my Easter decor box (@target dollar section years ago) that always makes me cheerful. A new lavender seed pot a new and dear friend gifted me for Mother’s Day. A favorite box with blank note cards inside to write cards to friends and family at a moment’s notice. A candle with my late grandma’s picture on it holding Jude that was a gift from my mother-in-law, a sign that was gifted to us from my other mother-in-law at our wedding, and of course a surprisingly decent bottle of discount Pinot noir. It’s all on a little vintage buffet I believe we got at an auction for a dollar. But we love it. It’s even moved with us multiple times. It’s the perfect vessel for this corner. Everything has a meaning and a purpose, and everything makes me smile. ☀️
